Oma is 84 years young. She is a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great - grandmother. Born and raised in the Panama Canal Zone, she appreciates different cultures and lifestyles. Throughout her life she has traveled – to Fiji, New Zealand, Italy, Germany, England, Belize, Mexico, Ecuador, Morocco, Ethiopia, South Africa, Lesotho and the Republic of South Africa.  She is a feminist and the epitome of womanhood.  She stands strong in what she believes; even as an octogenarian.

Although she has been “retired” in the traditional sense for the past 24 years, her life is far from “retiring”. In the summer she feeds the hummingbirds from a feeder beside her dining room window and cares for her hanging baskets of flowers that seem to overflow everywhere. She delivers “meals-on wheels”, listens to classical music, loves to read, and enjoys crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She most recently served on a citizen’s advisory committee for her local fire and rescue department and has walked 2-3 miles every day for the past 20 years or more. Everyone in her small town knows her. She smiles and talks to everyone.

When Oma first saw the jackets she was intrigued with the color combinations, the textures and interested in their design and construction. She has been supportive of our endeavors since the very beginning! Oma has worn her jackets visiting the library (which she loves), to family weddings and graduations.

We salute Oma as our newest “Jacket Lady of the Season”!
