Tribal groups from different regions and continents are studied in great detail – with careful precision. Clothes and jewelry are authentic and only the best materials are used for each doll. Wooden dolls are carved by craftspeople in Ethiopia, Kenya, Bangladesh, Nepal and Thailand. Polymer dolls are modeled by Ellen London. All dolls have been designed and lovingly assembled by a select group of artistans. Dolls are signed and dated.
Quantities of dolls are limited, and typically only 2 dolls from each continent are offered for sale annually. Because each doll is made individually and “to-order”, please allow up 3-5 weeks to receive your doll(s).

PRIEST FROM THE ORTHODOX CHURCH: AFEPr
Tesfaye Abebe is an Orthodox priest who lives within the Lalibela complex of rock-hewn churches found in central Ethiopia. As in the rest of the country, the church is the center of worship and community life. Carrying his cross or umbrella, Tesfaye often spends his days in quiet contemplation or reading from the Kidan (New Testament). Seated, he worries that once he and his gray-bearded companions are gone, their ancient traditions may die away with them. A processional cross is included with the doll.
